January is almost over, and although winter is still thickly spread, on some days it is thins through a bit, diaphanous, sheer enough to let spring show through. The light is seeping in to the evening hours, bathing us in gold. I love nothing better than to find a slice of sun, sit in it and read a little while, soaking up the brightness— “We can make do with so little, just the hint / of warmth, the slanted light”:
