I love seeing what you're cooking throughout the seasons. You asked what creative projects we're enjoying - I recently got back into scrapbooking, and am loving documenting seasons, moments, events. I enjoy keeping paper keepsakes and find it fun to have a visual display of them. It's been nice to have an easy indoor activity for blistering summer days in Phoenix.
That sounds like such a lovely indoor activity for the hot summer days! And what a gift to yourself to be able to look back on fond memories, saved beautifully. Thank you for sharing! xx
I noticed you like a fair number of Hetty McKinnon’s recipes—my favorite of hers is this stir-fried cucumber and tofu dish, I love it for using up a bumper crop of cucumbers (current situation)! Thought you may like it as well :)
Oh this looks so delicious! Thanks for sharing. My mom's garden is keeping us in a very steady supply of cucumbers (ours are slow to the party but should be kicking into high gear soon!) so this is perfect. Love Hetty McKinnon's flavors and textures. x
Love reading all your words and hearing about your kitchen projects and creative pursuits! My daughter and I have gotten into seed saving this summer and it's super fun. I'm curious where you buy your firewood? We've always used old wood from dead trees in our yard but need to buy some and I think I remember you mentioning that though could be wrong!
Hi Caitlin! Thank you! I love that you and your daughter are seed saving this summer, what a sweet thing to do together and will be fun to share the seeds and plant them together next year!
As for firewood, we've usually gotten wood from my dad who cuts his own from fallen trees, but this year I'll be buying it. We plan to use M&M firewood, who you can either pick up from or they can deliver to you. Several people I know have recommended them although this will be our first time trying them. x

I'm excited to see your knitting project!
Yay! I’ll share in Saturday’s newsletter, I just gifted it yesterday and it is darling on her! xx
